Portrait picture of the designer of De Vree: Anneleen De Vree

Meet the designer & goldsmith

Born into a family of artists & craftsmanship, Anneleen has always been surrounded by a creative & cultural atmosphere.
She spent most of her childhood in her father’s & grandfather’s atelier, learning various techniques from drawing to etching, soldering & carving stones.

In 2016, she graduated, with honours, in Jewellery Design & Goldsmithing at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, after which she obtained a second degree in Graphic & Digital Design (2020).

Throughout the years, Anneleen grew passionate about designing in a more sustainable way, using ethical resources & techniques. She believes designers play a crucial role in promoting this, which led her to create her eponymous label, ‘De Vree.’

De Vree is the symbiosis of all these passions: slow design, fine craftsmanship & sustainability.

Our philosophy

At De Vree, we envision a world where slow design, quality craftsmanship and sustainable resources come together to create conscious jewellery that holds deep personal meaning.

We strongly believe in slowing down, ensuring high-quality workmanship and durability. This is why we are committed to taking our time to handcraft each design in our Antwerp studio, deliberately creating/accepting only a limited amount of pieces each month.

We use ethically-sourced materials, from recycled silver & gold to responsibly mined gemstones & laboratory grown diamonds. And we extend this approach to our entire studio practice & packaging, striving for responsible materials that align with our values.

We believe jewelry is more than just an accessory; it is a personal token that reflects our values, memories, and connections throughout life. Each design can be tailored to the wearer’s identity and is always made to measure.

With this philosophy regarding design & creation, we strive to spark a community that encourages mindful consumption and timeless, personal jewellery.
